Our Story

In April 2019, Justin and Christa Henderson relocated their young family to northern Wyoming, with four children and one more on the way.  From the beginning, they were on a mission to help and serve native youth growing up on the reservations.  They came to work alongside a local pastor in Lovell, Wyoming who had a vision to build a Christian vocational program for young men from the nearby reservations - a free program for students who just needed an opportunity.  The hope was to help them grow spiritually and train them in a profession so that they could go back out and find a good job.

As time allowed, Justin had the opportunity to combined his love for all things outdoors, and spending time with these students.  He began taking them out in God's creation - hunting, hiking, and a lot of fishing.  Some of these young men have had a lot of trauma in a very short amount of time, and these experiences can be soul-healing and uplifting.  This is really how the vision for Nations Alive began.

In July 2023, Justin and Christa Henderson helped form Nations Alive, a 501c3 non-profit organization, that exists to serve Native American youth growing up on reservations in Wyoming and Montana, by providing resources and opportunities for outdoor recreation, vocational training and spiritual growth.  Our goal is to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ with each and every one we meet.
